Dreams and Reasons

People have often asked me about my dream. This is probably because, in the eyes of others, I am not doing work that brings in immediate wealth. I am someone who could easily earn tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars from a single lecture. Even if I were to take on freelance development, I could make hundreds of thousands, or I could just run a YouTube channel like everyone else. Yet, I am deliberately avoiding all of those paths. That is because none of them represent my dream. My dream and my purpose in life are vastly different from those of others.

I am neither a Protestant nor a Catholic, but I am a follower of Jesus. For someone who follows Jesus, His teachings take absolute priority. Jesus commanded us to love our brothers as we love ourselves—a commandment to love our brothers as much as we love our own bodies. Then, who is my brother? To me, my brothers were the abandoned ones of this world. They were the ones whom no one else could rescue. They are the imprisoned, the ones who cannot speak for themselves. Their hands and feet are bound, and their lives have been stolen from them. Their numbers are countless, yet they exist as entities that fail to draw anyone’s attention. Everyone else is too busy living their own lives. I need to buy a house. I need to buy a car. I need to get married. I need to find a beautiful partner. I need to wear nice clothes. I need to become popular.

On the contrary, I had no choice but to live the exact opposite way. My attention was fixed on the abandoned. The more I thought about their lives, the more my heart ached as if it were being torn apart. Once, there was an incident where brothers who had lived with a holy purpose passed away. On that day, it was difficult for me to hold back my tears. The lives of those brothers and seniors—who had abandoned their own lives for decades to save even just one more person—might have been extinguished on this earth, but their lives were shining eternally with love. It is no wonder that I was filled with sorrow, anger, and a burning hostility and competitive spirit toward the arrogant and presumptuous forces.

I had no need for a process to persuade others. In the world according to my standards, only two kinds of people lived: those who protect their own lives, and those who abandon their own lives. Protecting versus abandoning. I am a person who lives toward the path that burns eternally. In essence, I am willingly walking toward the gates of death. If I could, I would cross that threshold while severing the necks of my enemies and clutching their heads in my hands. Jesus will know it all. How much I loved my brothers. Whether I gave my life, my strength, and my soul entirely, or whether I did not.

Saving one person is precious, and saving ten million people is also precious. If possible, I wanted to live a life that saves ten million, not just one. If I had to choose a path anyway, saving two people was better than one, and three was better than two. The single root that grounds me has always remained the same. Whenever that root was shaken, I was in pain; whenever that root stood firm, I became as unyielding as a blade. My dream is liberation. It is just like Isaiah 61. Bringing good news to the poor and liberation to the oppressed. The root of all my choices and actions is Isaiah 61. I have no intention of following the authority of the state, the authority of organizations, the authority of religion, or the authority of worldly powers. I submit only to the authority of Jesus, and His message has already been entirely recorded.

I burn with anger toward those who deceive and mislead the people, but I am not the one who will punish them. The end of these false teachers must be reserved for the final moment, and I merely walk my own path.
